Good price – minor hurdles to get them working with Home Assistant
To be clear: these aren’t marketed as being compatible with Home Assistant so I still gave it 5/5. The H6006 model does have WiFi, but there isn’t an option to enable “LAN control” like some of the other Govee RGB lights we have. LAN control skips the Govee API and my existing lights respond very quick (and more importantly, they’re nearly perfectly in sync)I can’t comment on the overall experience using the Govee app, but they seemed responsive over Bluetooth and the app seems decent. I only used the app to connect them to WiFi.If you ARE using Home Assistant, the H6006 are not listed as compatible with the “Govee Local” integration. They do not show up in the integration, and there is currently (Nov 2024) no option to enable “LAN control” in the Govee App for these lights specifically. Thankfully they do still work with Home Assistant if you set up “mosquitto broker” and “Govee to MQTT bridge” add-ons. You’ll need to add the lights to your Govee account through the app (basically just set them up as normal) AND you’ll have to request a Govee API key, which you’ll receive instantly via email.Control through HA is good, but has some significant delays. Sometimes the lights respond within a second or so, sometimes they have a 5-10sec delay. Sometimes it feels closer to 20sec. I’ve had a few commands be delayed by a minute or so.I have no interest in using the Govee app but I have thoroughly enjoyed Govee products as a cheaper alternative to Philips Hue or similar. Govee, please add LAN control as an option on these!

These are so fun and so easy to set up. Initially they didn’t work with my LED compatible dimmers so I had to switch back to a regular on/off switch. They’re really a vibe – dark orange is such a nice calm colour. The compatibility with Alexa makes my life easier. I got these on Black Friday but I would say considering the lifespan they are still worth it- I use them multiple times a day.

I love the Govee app. It is very interactive and easy to use. The light bulbs are connected without issues, and the intensity is great. The dimmer is also easy to use. There are many settings and options to save patterns for different rooms. It is worth the price, and I regret not buying four.
