Great Budget-Friendly Surge Protectors, Just Plug and Go
The Amazon Basics 6-Outlet, 200 Joule Surge Protector Power Strips are a great option if you need to power many devices and yet only have a single outlet to spare. The power strips are basic but suit our needs perfectly. The outlets work perfectly, powering my daughter’s devices without any hitches and the short cord works great because she can hide most of it behind her bookshelf while just having the power strip itself visible. It’s a simple, effective, and budget-friendly power strip set that I would purchase again when I have the need for more outlet spaces.

I didn’t read the description carefully enough when I purchased these, so the cord is much shorter than I needed. But that’s on me – they’re good quality, and I’m not mad at having them in my tool drawer. Plus they were inexpensive enough that it won’t hurt to give them away if someone needs them.

Cord length isn’t the best it’s very short, but if you need a budget power strip this is the product for you. I have been using this for about a year now and it still works as needed.About the joules;A power strip with a joule rating of 200 is designed to handle smaller power surges and provide basic protection for your connected devices. It can help absorb or divert a limited amount of excess energy during a surge to prevent damage to your electronics.Power surges can occur due to various reasons, such as lightning strikes, power grid fluctuations, or electrical equipment switching on and off. A surge of electricity can potentially exceed the normal voltage supplied to your devices, which may cause damage to sensitive electronic components.A power strip with a 200 joule rating can handle relatively small power surges, but its capacity to protect against larger or more intense surges is limited compared to higher-rated surge protectors. It is suitable for protecting devices with lower power demands, such as small household appliances, lamps, or charging cables for mobile devices.Power strips with lower joule ratings may not be able to handle more substantial or prolonged power surges effectively. They work fine and are cheaper than what you could find it. Two big box stores. This is good because it’s still a surge protector. There’s not much difference between this one and the ones it cost almost twice as much at the big so-called discount stores around me.
